In Show on map you can change which information is shown:
Select Points of Interest to choose which ones are shown on the map. Select Show status bar in map view to show or hide the iPhone status bar in the map view.
Select Lane guidance on interstate highwaysto show the moving lane guidance on the approach to highway intersections
Select Current street name to show the street name on the guidance view. The current street name can be useful when navigating through a city, but you may not require this during a long route with highways.
Select Show contacts on map to show your contacts on the current map view.
