Routing

Select Settings in the Main Menu, then select Routing.

Preferred route type

The types of route you can choose from are as follows:

• Fastest — the route which takes the least time.
• Shortest - the shortest distance between the locations you set. This may not be the quickest route, especially if the shortest route is through a town or city.
• Eco-friendly — the most fuel-efficient route for your trip.
• Bicycle route — a route designed for making the trip on a bicycle.
• Walking route — a route designed for making the trip on foot.
• Winding — the route with the most turns.

Avoid on every route

You can choose to avoid ferries and car shuttle trains, toll roads, unpaved roads, carpool lanes, highways, and tunnels. Set how your TomTom GO Navigation app should manage each of these road features when the device calculates a route.

Note: Carpool lanes, or High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes (HOV), are not present in every country. To travel on these lanes, you may need to have more than one person in the car, or the car may need to use environmentally-friendly fuel.

Rerouting

You can choose when to reroute if a faster route is available:

• Automatic. Your TomTom GO Navigation app will always change to the fastest route, without asking your permission.
• Manual. You will be asked before your TomTom GO Navigation app changes to the fastest route.
• Never.
